Pouches

In the wild sugar gliders nest in hollow tree trunks, they line it with leaves, feathers, and anything else they can find which is soft and transportable. They carry the items to the nest in their tail.

Pouches are supposed to mimic the nice, soft, cosiness of the tree trunk. Sugar gliders love them; they will usually choose to sleep in a pouch over a wooden nest box.

They're fun, cute, and they look great! However, sugar gliders are accident prone so you should check the pouch regularly, if there are loose threads cut them off. When the pouch becomes worn, discard it and buy another one. You can't be too careful!

These pouches are all made by sugar glider keepers (unless otherwise stated) who know the importance of safety.

Bonding pouches

Bonding pouches with a handy window at the front. These are ideal for bonding as the gliders can become accustomed to your scent while they sleep and will associate your smell with warmth and cosiness.

Handmade Bonding Pouches

These bonding pouches are all handmade and are the same fantastic quality as the handmade cage pouches. They do not have neck straps but they do have attachments so you can add your own neckstrap. You could even attach clips for those gliders that are not yet bonded, you can clip the pouch in to the cage so they can use it as a cage pouch, you can then close the zip and carry them around with you in order to aid the bonding process.

These pouches are ideal for summer months, they have a cotton outer layer and a fleece inner layer

Handmade Cage Pouches

My handmade cage pouches are gorgeous,they are made from polar fleece and I have lined and unlined pouches. Where I both lined and unlined in the same colour you can buy them both and save £1. Please make sure you regularly check your pouches for damage.

The following tunnels are all handmade and lined. The large tunnels are 16"x6" and the smaller ones are 12"x4". They can all be hung from the cage.

Hammock Pouches

These Hammock Pouches are hand made by the same suggie enthusiast that makes my fantastic cage and bonding pouches. I love these, and more importantly, the suggies love them! They attach to the roof of the cage like a hammock, the suggies enter from the top and they can sleep in either side (left or right). They're genius!

The Snuggle Safe Heat Pad

As I'm sure you are all aware winter is fast approacing and most of us keep exotic mammals that require heat. Over the coming months it is going to get very cold at night, my double thickness duvet has come out already, but what about our poor suggies?

I have found what I believe to be a fantastic product for the extra cold nights, the Snugglesafe Heat Pad. It is a solid plastic disc that is non toxic, chew proof, easy to clean, and there are no wires or scalding water to worry about! You simply put it in the microwave for about 5 minutes depending on the wattage of the microwave (instructions are on the pad) and it stays warm for up to 10 hours!! I have tried them and it's true, they provide between 8 & 10 hours of warmth.

You must make sure you keep the cover on the heatpad, and do not use them for anaesthetised or unconscious animals, the animal must be able to move away from the heat if they become too warm or uncomfortable. Being too warm is just as dangerous as being too cold!

They are also ideal if you have to take your reptile or exotic mammal to the vet
